Pill vs. A Broader Perspective
The answer to ADD may not be as easy as taking a pill but it is as easy as changing our perspective. Parents, teachers and health care professionals are beginning to ask questions: is there a hidden message in ADD that we have been missing? How can understanding ADD help us improve education and parenting for all children?

ADD – Disability or Gift?
(Portrait of a Modern-Day Risk Taker)
Outward symptoms are merely outward signs of the ADD person's different style of learning and their self-directed sense of purpose. How can parents, teachers and health care professionals better address the causes of ADD symptoms? How can we recognize and tap its inherent gifts and more positively impact outcomes? What does recent research on the brain tell us that can help us impact symptoms more effectively than conventional methods? While diagnosis serves a useful purpose in the treatment of ADD, with that diagnosis often comes the unfortunate practice of blaming this not–entirely–physically–based–difference for its related behaviors “that fall outside the norm.” We can misuse the diagnostic label to avoid blaming ourselves as well. Although it is tempting to repress, deny, and defend against feelings of inadequacy in dealing with our ADD children, this stance keeps us from taking full responsibility and from making the needed changes. How can we overcome that urge in the interest of taking the next step towards improved treatment and better teaching and parenting methods?

Quantum Physics, Paradigms and ADD
Does the ADD phenomena portend an evolutionary and vibrational change in the human species? As our level of consciousness expands, our vision for our world expands with it, and paradigms shift. How do ADD children remind us of our need to discover and realign ourselves with our own personal missions?

Right-Brain Learner in a Left-Brain World
The majority of learners have been predominantly left-brained in their learning preference. But this trend is quickly changing to a right brained dominance, which is the dominance profile for all ADD persons. Does this signal an important, even necessary evolutionary change?

Bird in a Cage
If you raise birds in a cage and then open the door, they will choose to remain in the cage. Although humans might long for change, they will likewise figuratively choose the security of their familiar cages but at the price of keeping their limitations. Overcoming the longing for things to stay the same is a prerequisite for impacting the escalating ADD trend with a new understanding of the issues involved and subsequently improved methods of parenting and teaching.
